Well, it turns out I was right. I'm not sure why you assumed that I have an "anti-white male woke worldview." However, I'm definitely against eliminating people of color from society, and I also observed that this alternative society, as presented in the show, looked very different from my observed world and the world of Peacemaker as established in the DCU-Prime.

As an American I can assure you that white supremacy is one of the major operating veins of our country’s ideology. It’s why I jumped, correctly, to the theory that I did. Gunn was utilizing imagery that has deep roots in my country’s history.
I have no interest in debating the politics of ICE, but I would encourage you to consider the following:
1. Not everything the state does is legal.
2. Not everything that is legal is right.
As the child of an immigrant and someone who just days ago watched as ICE agents physically assaulted his own neighbor, a legal Mexican immigrant, with no justification other than the color of his skin, I speak from personal experience of the terror these masked officers are inflicting on my community and family.
I don’t know what “woke” means, it has been co-opted to mean just about anything. But if it means that I’m someone who writes about racial inequity throughout American history with accuracy and honesty, especially as it pertains to a show that is explicitly about the rise and institutionalization of white supremacy in America… then fine. I’m happy for people to walk away from my writing thinking I’m “woke.”

I’m open to a free exchange of ideas so long as you don’t categorize my ideas for me with a label, including the suggestion that I hate white men. I am a white man, I’m proud of who I am and my heritage, and I’m trying to make up for the ongoing horrors men like me commit from a position of power.
I’m not going to convince you that white supremacy is baked into nearly every aspect of American life and presents itself in ways that aren’t quite as cartoonish as men in white hoods or even a supervillain that’s themed after a dragon. And to use your own bogeyman, as an example, antifa isn’t even a thing to even remotely the same degree as white supremacy, which has organizations that identify as such, with hierarchies, etc.
As for deporting immigrants, I don’t even agree on that agenda. They prop up our economy, give back more than they take, are statistically significantly non-violent/criminal, etc. I would much rather make the process of immigration far easier, offer a path to citizenship, welcome them into our communities, and then use our connection to better enforce our laws. Truly, if it’s much easier to immigrate to this country, the only reason not to do it legally is if you intend to commit crimes. That path seems much smarter, economically sound, and in the American spirit than spending billions on a masked police force that is tearing up families, inflicting terror, and making huge mistakes that send American citizens to foreign prisons with no legal representation or due process.
I’m no fan of Israel, but I have a really difficult time even beginning to unpack your statement that Jews are “on the bottom of the hierarchy of oppressed groups.”

in the modern age, the wheel of time turns quickly (maybe you review that too)...and what once was true, becomes untrue.....I agree there was a time of white supremacy, and the Jews indeed where the textbook example of oppressed group......
but currently, today, this minute, I think white supremacy has gone the way of the dodo, and Jews are seen writ -large on the left as oppressors, not oppressed.............

Referring to masked ICE agents as parallel to masked vigilante supervillains who believe they are heroes is absolutely appropriate and a comparison the former have earned. The irony of a Tyler Durden advocating for the separation of fiction and reality is almost too obvious to remark upon.
