Thanks so much for covering Beef -- hadn’t heard anything about it; watched (loved) the first 2 eps & thoroughly enjoyed your discussion. Siddhant’s enthusiasm & thoughtful comments were superb. Can’t wait for your next installment when you’ve finished this remarkable show.

It’s refreshing to watch (& hear insightful commentary about) a completely new series with no existing source material to compare to

What timing, given I just watched these two episodes on the plane.

I appreciated the conversation, although I’d have probably opened with how stressful I find Danny’s decision-making, which was definitely front of mind for me. While Amy’s actions are potentially self-destructive, the show clearly positions her current life as both miserable enough to justify some degree of reckless action and operating with a degree of a safety net. Danny, by comparison, has people relying on him, making the whole situation alarming. I’m curious how that balance of stakes shifts as the season progresses.

This show is incredible and I can't wait to hear the follow up discussion. Also, Dave, you and the guys should do a full review as an after dark on the filmcast as well, I think a lot of listeners would be into that. Regarding Dave's comment on the film's skewering of the art world not really landing: Having worked at a fine art auction house that sold a lot of chairs, I have to say it's depicted quite accurately. Would surprise you how much some collectors are willing to pay for old chairs. Seems really clear that Fumi is based on Yayoi Kusama or Yoko Ono, at least in her look and vibe. George's father was probably based on George Nakashima or Isamu Noguchi, both very prominent Japanese American designers who made a lot of very celebrated chairs.

Thanks for covering this! I had heard the name of the show and was a bit put off since the title matches documentaries like Beef, Inc.

So I watched the show so I could listen to the podcast and I'm really liking the show. I appreciate the minor things also, like the titles, the title font, and associate title artwork.

On a side note, your mic on this episode was pretty harsh/clipped. I'm not sure if that is your headset experiment making a re-appearance.

Very exciting! Seems like a great idea & I look forward to listening.

Will there be a spoiler-free section, or should listeners assume full spoilers for the episodes right away?

Thanks, Dave, and good luck with this new venture!
